Product update
House rules pre-check acknowledgements
Guests review and accept house rules before arrival, giving operators clearer expectations, completion status, and a stronger record when issues come up.
What changed
House rules can now become a required guest pre-check step. Guests move through rules one at a time, complete a final attestation, and finish the flow before moving forward.
If a guest leaves the flow before finishing, Welcora brings them back to the required step from their guidebook link. Completion is tracked on the reservation, so operators can see who is ready and who still needs attention.
- Rule-by-rule acceptance before arrival.
- No skipping required rule acknowledgements.
- Typed-name attestation and electronic consent capture.
- Reservation-level completion tracking for operators and teams.
- Saved progress so guests can resume from their guidebook link.
Why it matters
Operators get fewer unclear expectations and a cleaner way to see whether a guest has completed required steps. It is especially useful for listings with noise, party, parking, occupancy, or policy risk.
What gets captured
Each completed acknowledgement creates a structured record tied to the reservation, including accepted rules, timestamps, final attestation text, the typed guest name, electronic consent details, and request metadata.
- Accepted rules and completion timing.
- Guest attestation and electronic consent version.
- Metadata such as IP address, user agent, language, and completion URL.
- A canonical acknowledgement payload with a hash for integrity.
How to use it well
The strongest setup is specific, firm, and guest-friendly. Rules should be clear enough for guests to understand before arrival, and operators should review pending completion status as part of the reservation pre-check.
- Write rules that are specific and unambiguous.
- Explain penalties carefully when they apply.
- Customize the attestation to fit the listing or operation.
- Keep the tone clear without making the guest experience feel hostile.
