What’s the difference between a digital waiver and a digital signature agreement?

Here’s the key difference:

  • Digital Waiver (Included):

    • Typically one party signs (the guest)

    • May or may not be legally binding, depending on your local laws

    • Used mainly for disclaimers, house rules, or liability acknowledgments

  • Digital Signature Agreement ($1/Signed Agreement):

    • Both parties sign (you and the guest)

    • Legally binding and compliant with ESIGN Act, UETA, eIDAS, and international standards

    • Includes full audit logs for legal and compliance purposes

In short: waivers are simpler and more informal, while agreements are formal, enforceable contracts.

What if I need to approve an upsell order before collecting payment on it?

Here’s how it works depending on the payment method:

  • Stripe-enabled upsells:

    • When a guest requests an upsell, their card is authorized (not charged).

    • If you approve the request, the payment is captured.

    • If you deny it, the hold is released, no charge goes through.

  • Manual payment:

    • You’ll get an email with the request.

    • In Welcora, you can accept or reject it, then one-click follow up with the guest for payment using your chosen method (like Venmo, Cash App, etc.).

So yes, you can absolutely review and approve upsells before taking payment.

Are there any fees associated with upsells?

Yes, there are some fees depending on how payment is handled:

  • With Stripe integration:

    • 5% Welcora fee

    • 2.9% + .30 Stripe processing fee

    • You can choose whether you cover the fees or pass them on to the guest

  • Manual payments (like Venmo or Cash App):

    • No Welcora fees

    • But those platforms may have their own fees depending on how you use them

No hidden charges—just a clear breakdown based on how you choose to collect payment.

What type of questions can the AI answer? Is it limited to content in my guidebook, or can it answer general travel questions too?

The AI is focused specifically on your guidebook content, it can answer any question based on the info you’ve provided, like house rules, check-out times, local recs, amenities, and so on.

It doesn’t answer general travel questions (like “What’s the best time to visit Italy?”), so the responses stay accurate and relevant to your property.
